How We Can Help

Support through Roots and Wings is grounded in lived experience, education, and systems navigation. Every family’s needs are different, and support is flexible and discussed individually. Some of the ways I am able to help include:

Educational Advocacy and Systems Navigation
Helping families understand and navigate school systems, including IEPs, 504 plans, school meetings, placement considerations, and communication with educational teams.

Homeschool and Alternative Learning Support
Supporting families exploring or currently using homeschooling or hybrid learning approaches, with attention to neurodivergent learning profiles, energy limits, and emotional regulation.

Understanding Behavior and Regulation
Offering behavior-informed perspective to help families make sense of behavior through the lens of nervous system needs, environment, and unmet supports — without compliance-based or clinical approaches.

Transitions, Demand Avoidance, and Overwhelm
Supporting families in understanding and navigating transitions, shutdowns, demand avoidance, and periods of overwhelm, with a focus on reducing strain and increasing predictability and safety.

Organization and Documentation Support
Helping families gather, organize, and understand educational, insurance, and service-related paperwork, including materials related to prior authorizations and supporting documentation.

Communication and Collaboration Support
Supporting families in preparing for and following up on conversations with schools, providers, and community organizations, including organizing questions, notes, and next steps.

Community Connection and Peer Support
Creating and facilitating opportunities for neurodivergent individuals and families to connect through peer-based gatherings and shared interests in low-pressure, non-clinical settings.

Support through Roots and Wings is non-clinical, individualized, and shaped collaboratively based on each family’s needs and circumstances.
